Do we really get married the same day?
Yes. In most cases, couples complete the entire process during their appointment at our New York chapel. Once the ceremony is completed and documents are signed and filed, you are legally married the same day.
Do we have to be New York residents?
No. You do not need to live in New York to get married with us. We help couples from all 50 states and around the world get legally married at our New York location.
What forms of ID are accepted?
We accept valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID such as:
- Driver’s license
- State ID
- Passport (U.S. or foreign)
- Military ID
- Permanent resident card
Expired IDs or photos/scans of IDs cannot be accepted.
Do we need witnesses?
Yes, two witnesses are required for the ceremony. If you are not bringing witnesses with you, our team can provide witnesses for your appointment.
Do both of us need to be physically present at the New York chapel?
Yes. Both parties must be present for the in-person ceremony at our New York location. We make the process quick, simple, and stress-free once you arrive.
When do we receive proof of marriage?
You will receive proof that your marriage was completed immediately after your ceremony. Official certified copies are then processed and mailed shortly after.
Is the marriage legally recognized everywhere?
Yes. Your marriage is legally recognized throughout the United States and internationally in most countries. Couples commonly use their marriage certificate for immigration, insurance, military benefits, name changes, and other legal purposes.
Do we need rings or personal vows?
No. Rings and personal vows are completely optional. Some couples keep it simple and quick, while others choose to personalize the ceremony. Both options are perfectly fine.
